Lord Jesus we recognise you in so many of the Gospel characters. You are the Good Samaritan pouring oil and wine on our wounded hearts and bringing us to the safety of your inn, where you look after us at great expense.
Also, you are a combination of Martha and Mary. You are my Martha, rushing to my aid to help me in my hour of need. But you are also my Mary, listening to my cries for help, my complaints, and my need for friendship.
Lord help me in this spiritual communion to accept your call to be like the Samaritan, Mary and Martha, hearers and doers of your word.
