Annual Triduum for the Feast of St Anthony of Padua

(To watch and listen to Fr Kieran’s welcome and introduction, click on the ‘play’ button on the video above.)
The Franciscan Friary here in Multyfarnham is held in great affection by so many people, and not just our near and beloved neighbours.  People come from far afield to visit us and they are always welcome.  One of the devotions that is very special to many people, and who make journeys of up to one hour to be here every Tuesday evening, is the Novena in honour of St Anthony.  It is true to say that frequently, there are more people here on Tuesday evening than on a Sunday morning!
The Feast Day of St Anthony of Padua is on June 13 and in the three days preceding the feast day, on Monday, June 10, Tuesday, June 11, and Wednesday, June 12, we have a Triduum; three days of prayer and reflection on the gift that St Anthony is to all of us, his example of holiness, and his care for all of those in need.  Then, on Thursday, June 13, the Feast Day of St Anthony, we will have the great celebration itself with Mass at 8:00pm
This year’s Triduum will begin Monday, June 10 and on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, we will have a Mass each day at 8:00pm with a homily that is especially focused on St Anthony.  This year, Fr Ulic Troy OFM, now living at our house in Merchant’s Quay in Dublin and originally from Ballynacargy, only a stone’s throw from here!) will lead us in the triduum and our celebration of the Feast.
Please join us in the celebration of this very special feast, a feast day is so important to our many visitors here to Multy.  We look forward to meeting you soon!
